The IDF announced Thursday that it had eliminated several of Hezbollah’s most senior field commanders in a series of strikes carried out over the past two weeks as Israel intensifies operations against the terror group across Lebanon.
According to the military, the targeted commanders were responsible for directing Hezbollah combat operations and advancing terror attacks against Israeli forces and civilians. The IDF said the eliminations followed an extensive intelligence investigation and were part of a broader campaign aimed at dismantling Hezbollah’s operational leadership.
Among those killed were the commander of the al-Khiam sector, who was eliminated in a strike on the al-Khiam command center, the assistant deputy commander of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, the intelligence officer for the Shaqif sector, the engineering chief and deputy engineering chief for the Yihmar sector, the commander of the Jibshit sector, and the engineering chief for the Jouaiya sector.
The military also revealed that approximately 2,500 Hezbollah terrorists have been killed since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, including around 800 since the ceasefire went into effect.
The announcement came as the IDF said it struck more than 135 Hezbollah targets across Tyre, the Bekaa Valley, and southern Lebanon over the past 24 hours.
According to the military, around 10 rocket launch sites used to fire at Israeli civilians and IDF forces were targeted in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon. The Israeli Air Force also struck a Hezbollah training camp in the Brital area of the Bekaa Valley.
In the Tyre region, the IDF said overnight strikes hit approximately 15 Hezbollah military infrastructures used to advance terror operations. The military also said the Israeli Air Force eliminated a Hezbollah terror cell as its members exited a rocket launch site previously used to fire at Israeli territory.
The latest wave of strikes came as Israel continues to expand operations against Hezbollah infrastructure across Lebanon amid growing tensions along the northern border and ongoing concerns over a broader regional escalation.
