Israel’s defense‑export industry reached a historic $19 billion in 2025, driven by global demand for advanced air‑defense systems, unmanned platforms, precision weapons, and electronic‑warfare technologies.

Although Israel markets dozens of systems, the overwhelming majority of export revenue is concentrated in a handful of high‑performing categories that have become global benchmarks.

The most dominant sector is air defense, which accounted for $6.1 billion of total exports.

Systems such as Arrow‑3, Iron Dome, David’s Sling, and Barak MX form a layered defensive architecture that has become internationally sought after.

The Arrow‑3 program, particularly the multibillion‑dollar German procurement, continues to anchor Israel’s leadership in long‑range missile defense.

The second major pillar is unmanned aerial systems, totaling $4 billion in exports.

Platforms like the Hermes 900, Heron‑TP, and Orbiter remain in high demand as militaries worldwide expand ISR and precision‑strike capabilities.

The global shift toward drone‑centric warfare—highlighted in Ukraine, Gaza, and the Caucasus—has only accelerated demand for Israeli UAVs and loitering munitions such as the Harop.

Missiles and precision‑strike systems form the third major category, generating $2.8 billion. The Spike missile family, PULS, and LORA continue to attract buyers seeking accurate, mobile, and cost‑effective firepower.

These systems are valued for interoperability with NATO platforms and for their proven battlefield performance.

Rounding out the export portfolio are advanced sensors and electronic systems.

Radar and EW exports—about $2.1 billion—are anchored by the EL/M‑2084 AESA radar, the backbone of Iron Dome.

Electro‑optical systems add another $1.5 billion, while SIGINT and EW suites continue to expand Israel’s footprint in cyber‑intelligence and electronic warfare.

Fastest‑Growing Sectors in 2025

The sharpest growth is occurring in:

  • Air‑defense systems, driven by European rearmament.
  • Autonomous drones and loitering munitions, reflecting modern battlefield trends.
  • Long‑range precision weapons, especially GPS‑independent systems.

These categories explain how Israel reached a record $19 billion in exports—and why demand is expected to rise further through 2030.
