The IDF on Tuesday released details of its final wave of strikes in Lebanon before the ceasefire took effect, saying more than 150 Hezbollah terrorists were killed in the last 24 hours of fighting.
According to the military, Israeli forces struck hundreds of targets, including operatives and terror infrastructure used by Hezbollah to carry out attacks against Israel and IDF troops.
Around 300 military sites were hit, including launchers, command centers, and weapons depots across multiple areas in Lebanon.
Among those killed was Ali Rida Abbas, Hezbollah’s Bint Jbeil sector commander, along with several other senior terrorists.
The Bint Jbeil sector is considered one of the organization’s key fronts in southern Lebanon, where Abbas played a central role in directing attacks and rebuilding Hezbollah’s capabilities during the fighting.
The IDF said Abbas is the fourth commander of the Bint Jbeil sector to be killed since the start of Operation Northern Arrows.
Since the launch of Operation “Lion’s Roar,” the military says more than 1,800 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in Lebanon.
A 10-day ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon took effect late Thursday after weeks of intense fighting, including heavy Hezbollah rocket fire on northern Israel in the final hours before the truce.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has described the pause as a strategic opportunity, saying it could open the door to a broader agreement with Lebanon, while emphasizing that Israel’s core demands remain the disarmament of Hezbollah and a “sustainable peace.”
The IDF said it will continue operating to clear areas under its control and remove threats to Israeli civilians and its forces.
