Did the media miss the most incredible news of the Iran war?
Speaking at Channel 14’s Defense Conference yesterday Rafael Defense System’s chairman Yuval Steinitz said that a large portion of the capabilities used against Iran remain classified.
He was referring to highly advanced, undisclosed offensive and defensive technologies that allowed Israel to dismantle Iran’s military infrastructure and command chain without detection.
Given his public comments and Rafael’s technological portfolio, his statement points to several possible areas.
Advanced Cyber and Electronic Warfare (EW)
Steinitz openly joked that during the opening salvo involving roughly 200 aircraft, “Iran didn’t see a single one”. This heavily implies that Israel utilized classified, next-generation electronic jamming or cyber-spoofing suites developed by Rafael and partner industries to completely blind Iran’s Russian-made air defense radars before a shot was even fired. The precision needed to assassinate dozens of top military targets simultaneously within the first 20 seconds suggests Israel may have breached and manipulated Iran’s secure military communications networks in real time.
High-Precision Stand-Off and Autonomous Munitions
While foreign reports point to the use of Rafael’s known platforms like the Spike missile family, Steinitz’s comments hint at the deployment of unreleased, long-range stand-off weapons. These would be munitions capable of traveling 1,500 kilometers with extreme velocity or stealth profiles, bypassing GPS jamming to hit subterranean or heavily fortified targets. To eliminate specific commanders without tipping off local air defenses, Israel likely deployed highly classified, autonomous micro-drones or loitering munitions. These could have been launched from close proximity or snuck into Iranian airspace to wait for targets.
Classified Air Defense Mechanics (Iron Beam and Next-Gen Interceptors)
While the Iron Beam high-power laser system is publicly known to have intercepted low-tier threats like Lebanon-launched UAVs, the full extent of its long-range or high-altitude capabilities remains classified. Steinitz may be hinting at undisclosed variants or operational laser thresholds used to neutralize long-range Iranian threats. Securing an unprecedented interception rate against a barrage of over 550 ballistic missiles and 1,100 drones relies on highly classified AI-driven combat networks. The exact predictive modeling and cross-platform syncing algorithms that allow systems like David’s Sling and Iron Dome to prioritize and neutralize hundreds of fast-moving targets simultaneously are closely guarded secrets.

By leaving the exact nature of these technologies in the dark, Steinitz is intentionally keeping Tehran guessing.
