The IDF has significantly escalated its counter-terrorism operations in Southern Lebanon, eliminating 220 Hezbollah operatives in less than a week.
This aggressive operational surge came as part of a sweeping military response to ongoing cross-border skirmishes and ceasefire violations.
According to official military updates, the IDF carried out more than 440 targeted precision strikes against the Iranian-backed proxy’s strongholds across the region.
The intense aerial and ground campaign focused heavily on dismantling specialized combat capabilities, successfully hitting multiple storage facilities packed with mortar shells, anti-tank guided missiles, and an active drone launch pad.
The localized tactical maneuvers were spearheaded by the forces of the 91st “Galilee” Division, who successfully uncovered hidden subterranean assets.
In one notable engagement, ground forces from the division spotted two Hezbollah fighters firing rockets from a civilian structure, immediately calling in an Israeli Air Force (IAF) aircraft to neutralize the cell.
The ensuing secondary explosions confirmed the site was a major weapons cache, where troops later uncovered military vests, combat helmets, weapon barrels, warheads, and tripods.
Furthermore, the IAF extended its air operations deeper into strategic coastal sectors, striking multiple command-and-control nodes and critical logistics infrastructure belonging to the terrorist organization in the Tyre region.
This rapid neutralization of 220 operatives directly reflects the unwavering enforcement stance adopted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
The political leadership has continuously emphasized that no terrorist operative has immunity, pledging that the long arm of Israeli security forces will reach any hostile actor attempting to threaten northern communities.
The massive multi-day offensive took place against the backdrop of highly complex diplomatic conditions, immediately following a productive eight-hour bilateral security summit held in Washington.
At that summit, State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott announced a 45-day extension of the active regional ceasefire framework to advance political negotiations.
Despite these ongoing diplomatic tracks, the IDF remains in a state of high combat readiness.
The military continues to aggressively enforce security buffers to prevent any renewed buildup of the Radwan Force or any other offensive elements south of the Litani River.
