Israeli security forces arrested a group of armed Arab robbers who disguised themselves as IDF soldiers in order to carry out a brazen daylight robbery at a jewelry store in the Hebron‑area town of Ad‑Dhahiriya.
According to military reports, the suspects wore full IDF uniforms and carried weapons as they surrounded the shop, creating the impression of an official security operation.
Surveillance videos circulating online showed the men entering the store while dressed as soldiers, alarming local residents and prompting immediate alerts to the army.
The IDF quickly clarified that none of the suspects were actual soldiers, and a large manhunt was launched across the area.
Troops, along with police and Shin Bet support, moved into Ad‑Dhahiriya and detained multiple suspects.
Initial assessments indicate the group may be part of a Bedouin criminal cell operating in the southern Hebron region.
Two suspects were captured by Israeli forces, while a third was detained by PA security personnel.
The impersonation of soldiers is considered a serious offense, both for security reasons and for the potential to undermine public trust in the military.
The investigation is ongoing, with authorities examining whether the group is linked to additional robberies in the area.
