U.S. Central Command chief Adm. Brad Cooper visited Israel on Saturday for meetings with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir, as Israel and the United States intensify coordination amid escalating tensions with Iran.

The IDF said Cooper was hosted as Zamir’s official guest and held an extended one-on-one meeting with the chief of staff, followed by a broader discussion with senior commanders.

The military described the visit as part of ongoing efforts to deepen ties and strengthen defensive cooperation between the two forces.

Kan News reported that Cooper and his Israeli counterpart discussed defensive coordination in the event of a potential U.S. strike on Iran that could trigger ballistic missile launches toward Israel.

The report cited a source familiar with the matter, who said alertness remains high but that it is still unclear what President Donald Trump will ultimately decide, with the option of a strike still “on the table.”

Kan News also reported that Zamir said in closed-door discussions that no date has been set for a potential U.S. strike on Iran and that the decision rests entirely with Trump. “No date has been set for an American attack on Iran — it’s all in the president’s head. From our perspective, anything can happen,” Zamir was quoted as saying.

The visit comes as Washington continues to reinforce its posture across the Middle East in recent days, with additional naval and air assets moving into the region.

The meetings reflected continued U.S.-Israel coordination, with both sides focused on strengthening readiness and defensive cooperation as regional tensions rise.
