At the 2025 Glastonbury Festival, the UK’s largest music event, the punk duo Bob Vylan led a chant of “Death to the IDF” during their performance on the West Holts Stage.

This chant was echoed by thousands in the audience, some of whom waved Palestinian and Lebanese flags.

The incident was broadcast live by the BBC, with no attempt to censor the hateful message.

Glastonbury Festival organizers later said they were “appalled” by the chants, which they said “clearly crossed a line,” and reaffirmed that there is no tolerance for hate speech or incitement to violence at the festival.

The UK government and the Israeli Embassy both strongly condemned the rhetoric, describing it as “inflammatory and hateful” and raising concerns about the normalization of extremist language.

The BBC has faced repeated accusations of anti-Israel bias over the years, including a refusal to recognize Hamas as a terrorist organization.
