On the TOV online network, MK and Major General (res.) Uzi Dayan recently presented possible scenarios in the event of a renewed fighting with Iran.

Against the backdrop of the possibility of renewed fighting with Iran, Dayan presented two main scenarios for the development of the situation, military and political.

According to him, if the fighting resumes, Iran will enter it from a weaker position, while Israel and the United States have a significant operational advantage.

This is due to the cumulative effects of intense joint US-Israel operations, which eroded its nuclear, defense, and industrial infrastructure. Iran faces profound internal economic crises and domestic protests in early 2026.

Conversely, Israel holds a major operational advantage through superior air power, advanced intelligence, and precision technology, backed by the U.S..

If fighting resumes Dayan notes that one possible direction is an American attempt to take control of the Iranian oil mechanisms, with the aim of damaging the regime’s economy without destroying the infrastructure itself.

However, he emphasizes that such a move is complex, partly due to Iranian military capabilities, such as long-range coastal missiles, which make it difficult to control strategic hotspots such as the Strait of Hormuz.

Alongside this, he presents another option, intensifying the pressure on the capital Tehran, including damaging civil and municipal mechanisms, while calling on citizens to evacuate the area.

According to him, this is a dramatic step that has not yet been tried, but could constitute a significant lever.

In a scenario of returning to negotiations, Dayan emphasizes that clear conditions must be set: removing nuclear material from Iran, stopping the development of ballistic missiles, and stopping support for proxy organizations.

In addition, he emphasizes the need to maintain Israel’s borders without compromise.
