The IDF has redeployed troops from Gaza to the Golan Heights in response to escalating threats near the Syrian border.
This shift includes personnel previously engaged in combat operations against Hamas in Gaza.
The IDF stated that it is “ready for a multitude of scenarios,” including the prevention of infiltrations and responses to Syrian military activity.
Israel accuses Syrian forces of committing atrocities against Druze civilians, including summary executions.
It is believed that approximately 262 Druze civilians were killed in the massacre, with 182 reportedly executed by Syrian regime forces.
As a result, IAF airstrikes have targeted Syrian regime troops and allied militias in and around the Syrian province of Sweida.
The IDF has also reinforced its presence along the Golan Heights.
Israel aims to protect the Druze minority in southern Syria, particularly in Sweida, where sectarian violence has sharply escalated.
Over 940 people were killed in Syria during the past week.
This includes 326 Druze fighters, 262 Druze civilians, 312 Syrian government personnel, 21 Sunni Bedouin
