The Israel Defense Forces have intensified operations across Judea and Samaria following Monday morning’s deadly shooting at the Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, which killed six and injured 21 people.

Military officials said a large-scale brigade maneuver under the Menashe Brigade was underway to curb terrorist activity, alongside a search for those behind the attack.

IDF troops together with Border Police entered several areas known for terrorist infrastructure, including villages in the Marj Sanur Valley, the Fara’a refugee camp, and Kabatiya.

Security forces reported confiscating weapons and tens of thousands of shekels in terror funds.

Reservists from the elite Duvdevan Unit, acting on intelligence provided by the Shin Bet, also arrested a suspect accused of planning additional plots.

Following the Jerusalem shooting, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir ordered reinforcements in Judea and Samaria and the encirclement of villages connected to the two attackers.

He convened a security assessment with senior commanders, stressing that while the Gaza Strip remains the military’s central focus, events in the area require immediate action.

The army said a ceremony for outstanding soldiers scheduled for Monday evening was postponed due to “operational developments on the various fronts.”

Palestinian reports identified one of the gunmen as 20-year-old Muthna Omar, whose father had been arrested in a recent IDF operation. Israeli media named the second assailant as Muhammed Taha.

Both men were from a Palestinian village in the Ramallah area. According to Walla, one of the two had previously been detained and questioned by police but was released three months ago.

The IDF confirmed it continues to operate heavily around Ramallah, maintaining a cordon on villages linked to the attackers. “We will continue to dismantle terrorist infrastructure wherever it exists,” the military said in a statement.

At least six people were killed Monday morning when terrorists opened fire on civilians at Ramot Junction in Jerusalem, according to emergency services.

Medical officials said 21 people suffered gunshot wounds and were evacuated to three hospitals in the capital.

Shaare Zedek Medical Center and Hadassah-University Medical Centers at Ein Kerem and Mount Scopus all received casualties.

In addition to the injured, paramedics treated 26 people at the scene for anxiety brought on by the attack.
