The IDF announced Tuesday that forces operating in Gaza eliminated a Hamas terrorist who participated in the abduction of four Israeli hostages during the October 7 massacre, as part of a broader series of operations targeting terrorists involved in attacks against Israeli troops and civilians.

According to the military, Yousef Ayesh Awad Ramadan, a deputy commander of a Hamas Nukhba terrorist cell, was killed in a recent operation in the Gaza Strip.

The IDF said Ramadan infiltrated Israeli territory on October 7 and took part in the abduction of Hersh Goldberg-Polin, Eliya Cohen, Alon Ohel, and Or Levy from a bomb shelter at the Re’im Junction during the Hamas-led attack.

The military also accused Ramadan of advancing attack plans against Israeli soldiers and civilians in recent months, saying he posed an immediate threat to troops operating in Gaza.

The announcement came as the IDF revealed that troops from the 252nd Division operating under Southern Command had eliminated five additional terrorists from Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad who were allegedly involved in planning imminent attacks against Israeli forces.

Among those killed was Salem Fayez Hamed Krika, a Hamas operative from the Shuja’iyya Battalion who was involved in preparing explosive devices and promoting sniper attacks against IDF troops. Also eliminated was Saeed Fayez Saeed Shamali, a Hamas Nukhba force commander.

The military said another terrorist, Ahmad Ali Abd al-Rahim Khallas, served as a sniper unit commander in Palestinian Islamic Jihad and was involved in planning attacks against Israeli forces. Two additional Hamas commanders who were allegedly planting explosive devices intended to target Israeli troops were also eliminated.

The announcement follows another targeted strike revealed Monday in Lebanon.

According to the IDF, the Israeli Air Force, acting on intelligence provided by Golani Brigade forces operating in the Beaufort area, struck and killed Muhammad Musa Matruk in the Nabatieh region of southern Lebanon.

The military identified Matruk as a unit commander in Hezbollah’s rocket and missile array who had held various positions within the organization over the years.

According to the IDF, Matruk was responsible for advancing and executing hundreds of rocket and drone attacks against Israeli civilians and military forces, including Golani Brigade troops currently operating in southern Lebanon.

The military said Israeli forces remain deployed in accordance with operational directives and will continue acting against immediate threats in both Gaza and Lebanon.
