IDF Clears Name of Reservist Killed in Hezbollah Drone Attack
The IDF cleared for publication the name of Alexander Glovanyov, 47, from Petah Tikva, who was killed Sunday in a Hezbollah explosive drone attack near the Lebanon border. Glovanyov, a transport driver in Battalion 6924 of the IDF Transportation Center, was directly struck after several drones crossed into Israeli territory and exploded near the border. He is the fourth Israeli serviceman killed by explosive drones since the ceasefire took effect.
IDF Destroys Hamas Tunnel Network Used to Hold Hostages
Forces from the 188th Brigade Combat Team and the Yahalom combat engineering unit destroyed four underground Hamas tunnel routes in southern Gaza with a combined length of roughly four kilometers. According to the IDF, one of the tunnel systems was part of a network used to hold hostages. Troops also located living quarters used by senior members of Hamas’s Khan Younis Brigade.
IAF Helicopter Suffers Technical Malfunction During Rescue Mission
An Israeli Air Force helicopter carrying out a medical evacuation mission in southern Lebanon was forced to land after suffering a technical malfunction. A second helicopter was dispatched to evacuate the wounded, while Air Force technical crews repaired the aircraft on the ground. The helicopter later safely departed the area. The IDF emphasized the aircraft was not hit by enemy fire.
IDF Chief Highlights Unity Ahead of Jerusalem Day
Ahead of Jerusalem Day, IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir addressed the General Staff Forum, describing Jerusalem as “the story of the entire State of Israel.” Zamir said the city symbolizes different communities living together, adding that the IDF similarly brings together all sectors of Israeli society around the shared mission of defending the country and securing its future.
IDF Eliminates Hezbollah Rocket Cell in Southern Lebanon
The IDF said troops from Division 91 identified a Hezbollah launch squad transporting a rocket launcher on a truck after firing rockets toward Israeli forces operating in southern Lebanon. Israeli Air Force aircraft, directed by ground troops, struck the cell and destroyed the launcher. No Israeli casualties were reported.
Military Court Convicts Terrorist in Murder of Sgt. Amit Ben Yigal
A military court convicted Nadmi Abu Bakr of intentionally causing the death of Sgt. Amit Ben Yigal during an operation in Ya’bad in May 2020. According to prosecutors, the terrorist threw a large brick from a rooftop at IDF troops, fatally striking Ben Yigal. He was also convicted of obstruction of justice after attempting to conceal evidence and evade capture.
IDF Strikes Hezbollah Targets After Rocket and Drone Attacks
Division 146 forces struck Hezbollah operatives and weapons infrastructure in southern Lebanon after identifying terrorists preparing attacks against Israeli troops. The IDF said additional Hezbollah terrorists were eliminated and a weapons warehouse was hit. The military also reported that Hezbollah launched rockets and explosive drones toward Israeli forces, with two drones striking unmanned engineering vehicles. No soldiers were wounded, though damage was caused to the equipment.
