The IDF carried out a large overnight counterterrorism sweep in the Shechem (Nablus) region, with Samaria Brigade forces entering several villages surrounding the city to detain wanted suspects and seize weapons.
During one of the raids, troops came under live fire. A reservist was moderately wounded and evacuated to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.
The operation centered on locating weapons, disrupting active terror cells, and degrading the networks behind attacks targeting Israeli civilians and soldiers.
The Shechem area has been a focal point of recent unrest, prompting intensified IDF activity aimed at restoring stability.
The heightened pressure follows an earlier mission this week in the nearby village of Urif, where Duvdevan forces and the Yahalom engineering unit conducted a targeted overnight raid.
That operation uncovered two covert workshops used to manufacture firearms and explosive devices for Palestinian terror groups operating in the sector. Troops also confiscated a hunting rifle and materials intended for producing improvised weapons.
Israel has made clear it will not allow terrorist networks to rebuild or rearm. With ongoing operations targeting weapons, operatives, and infrastructure at every level, the IDF continues to push back decisively—determined to eliminate emerging threats and safeguard Israeli civilians wherever danger arises.
