The Israel Defense Forces struck what it described as Iran’s only facility responsible for the planning and development of submarines and naval systems, as part of a broader wave of strikes targeting the Iranian regime’s military industries.

According to the IDF, the Israeli Air Force, operating with intelligence guidance, carried out a large wave of strikes against Iranian weapons production industries in Isfahan, including a military research and development center focused on underwater warfare systems.

The facility was described as the only site in Iran responsible for designing and developing submarines and support systems for the Iranian navy. Iranian forces also produced various models of unmanned naval vessels at the site.

The strike is expected to significantly limit Iran’s ability to develop new and advanced submarines and upgrade its existing naval fleet, dealing another blow to Iran’s long-term military development programs.

The strike in Isfahan was part of a broader overnight campaign targeting Iran’s weapons production infrastructure. The Israeli Air Force also carried out a wave of strikes in the Tehran area, targeting facilities involved in the production of aerial and naval weapons systems.

According to the IDF, some of the facilities that were targeted produced weapons intended to arm Iran’s regional proxies, including Hamas, Hezbollah, and other terror organizations across the Middle East.

During the strikes, Israeli forces also targeted air defense systems and a surface-to-air missile launch position in order to further expand Israeli air superiority over Iranian airspace.

Israeli officials said the ongoing campaign is focused on systematically degrading Iran’s military industry and weapons production capabilities, infrastructure that Iran spent years building and that has been used to arm both its military and its proxy forces throughout the region.

The latest strikes are part of Israel’s broader strategy to weaken Iran’s military capabilities at their source, targeting production facilities, research centers, and weapons infrastructure rather than only operational forces.
