The Israeli Air Force carried out strikes on Hezbollah smuggling routes along the Syria-Lebanon border and eliminated senior terrorists involved in the group’s weapons networks on Wednesday, the IDF said in a statement.

According to the military, the IAF struck four crossings in the Hermel area along the Syria-Lebanon border that were being used by Hezbollah to transfer weapons into Lebanon. The IDF said the strikes were aimed at disrupting Hezbollah’s smuggling corridors.

In a separate strike, the IDF said it eliminated Hezbollah terrorist Muhammad Awad’a in the Sidon area, describing him as a “central weapons trader and smuggler.”

The military said Awad’a “advanced and managed” weapons transfers for Hezbollah, including through a front company that ordered and transported prohibited goods from multiple countries “including Iraq, Syria, and Gulf states.” The IDF added that he also ran networks responsible for moving weapons from Iraq through Syria and into Lebanon.

The IDF also said it eliminated Abu Ali Salama, a Hezbollah liaison officer in the southern Lebanese village of Yanouh, accusing him of helping the terror group embed infrastructure inside civilian areas and private property.

The IDF said Salama was involved in obstructing enforcement action against a Hezbollah weapons depot in Yanouh.

The military said that on December 13, 2025, after Israel requested the site be addressed, Salama received notice from the Lebanese Army and passed it to Hezbollah, allowing operatives to block enforcement and remove the weapons before the location could be cleared.

The IDF said it will continue operating to prevent Hezbollah from rebuilding its capabilities and to remove threats to Israel.
