Former head of the IDF’s Civil Administration in Judea and Samaria, Lt. Col. (res.) Morris Hirsch, outlined a security horror scenario based on the lessons of the October 7th, pointing to an existential danger that threatens the center of the country.
In an interview with the Tov Hebrew News channel, Hirsch emphasized that the growing international recognition of a Palestinian state in the wake of the massacre is a reward for terrorism, which encourages the Palestinian side to understand that the murder of Jews translates into significant political achievements.
At the center of his analysis is the “22 Kilometers Threat,” a number that represents the maximum distance reached by Hamas terrorists inside Israel (the city of Ofakim) during the surprise attack from Gaza.
Hirsch warns that in Judea and Samaria there is a Palestinian Authority terror army of about 70,000 men – ten times more than the force that infiltrated Gaza on October 7th.
According to him, the security fence along the seam line does not constitute a real obstacle for a force of this size, since it is breached in large part and is mostly built of a simple barbed wire fence.
Hirsch describes a scenario in which thousands of armed terrorists, also equipped with armored vehicles, simultaneously break in from the Jenin and Tulkarm areas toward the cities of the central coastal plane and the north.

In contrast to the fighting inside Judea and Samaria, where the IDF is deployed with large forces, on the way to coastal cities such as Afula or Netanya, there are no significant military camps that can stop the outbreak immediately.
The immediate danger, according to Hirsch, is the takeover of major transportation arteries such as Highway 6.
Blocking the road and massacring passengers during rush hour could turn the events of Route 223 (the bloody route in the border area) into a “small and dwarf event” compared to the planned catastrophe in the heart of the country.
Hirsch concludes the call for offensive and active actions now, in order to thwart the threat posed by the Palestinian Authority’s “terror army” before the scenario that he sees is already just around the corner, materializes.
