Israeli security forces launched a large-scale counterterrorism operation in the city of Hebron on Sunday night, the IDF said, targeting terrorist infrastructure and illegal weapons as part of broader efforts to strengthen security in Judea and Samaria.
The operation, led by the Judea Brigade, includes IDF troops alongside the Shin Bet, Israel Police, and Border Police.
According to the military, forces began operating overnight in the Jabal Johar neighborhood of Hebron, focusing on dismantling terror networks, preventing attacks, and cracking down on the unlawful possession of firearms and other weapons.
The IDF said the operation is expected to continue for several days. During that time, residents may hear explosions and notice heightened military activity and increased troop movement throughout the area.
Security officials emphasized that the operation is part of ongoing proactive efforts to thwart terrorism across Judea and Samaria and to maintain stability in the region.
