The Israeli Navy carried out an extensive weeks-long exercise, mobilizing warships, submarines, commandos, and support units to practice defending Israel’s territorial waters, offshore energy assets, and coastal infrastructure against complex multi-front threats.
In the ‘Magen Oz’ exercise, IDF forces across all branches test their readiness for a range of intense scenarios, sharpening command response, defense and attack coordination, and rapid reaction to emerging threats.
‘This is the foundation of a professional army, alert and prepared to defend and to move quickly to the offensive to remove threats.’
‘They had to handle multiple threats arriving at once, and that was only one scenario out of three.’
‘This is an unprecedented exercise, the first of its kind in the IDF,’ said Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir.
