Israeli rapper The Shadow (HaTzel), known for his outspoken support of the IDF, has stepped in to help soldiers battling extreme heat on the front lines.
As temperatures soared past 104°F (40°C) in military tents near Gaza and Syria, The Shadow initiated efforts to purchase portable air conditioning units for IDF troops struggling to recover between missions.
Soldiers described their tents as “ovens” after 12-hour operations, with no ventilation or cooling systems.
The Shadow, also known as Yoav Eliasi, partnered with the Shomrei Yisroel “Keep Our Soldiers Cool” initiative, which aims to deliver hundreds of AC units to frontline tents.
Each unit costs $375 and can significantly cool a tent housing 8–10 soldiers, dramatically improving recovery and hydration.
After an online plea from The Shadow supporters quickly donated over a NIS 100,000 for the air conditioning units for soldiers.
The Shadow’s involvement has been praised as a powerful gesture of solidarity with IDF troops enduring harsh conditions.
While Israeli temperatures have moderated during the last week – they are expected to skyrocket next week and reach new highs.
