Amid reports of a potential escalation in hostilities, the Israel Defense Forces conducted a series of precision strikes against key Hezbollah positions in Lebanon on Thursday.
The operations targeted multiple strategic sites in the Beqaa Valley and southern Lebanon, aiming to disrupt the terror group’s capabilities.
According to an IDF statement, the attacks struck a military compound used for live-fire training and terrorist preparation, as well as a facility for the production of precision-guided missiles.
Another site in Sharbine was also hit, housing infrastructure used by Hezbollah to plan and execute attacks against Israel.
“These sites were used to train terrorists, store weapons, and plan attacks against Israel, which is a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF said. “The IDF will continue to act against any threat to the State of Israel.”
The operations come only two days after another IDF strike on Hezbollah positions in Nabatieh, aimed at dismantling the group’s terror infrastructure. “Hezbollah continues to attempt to rebuild its terror capabilities across Lebanon,” the IDF said after that attack.
Later on Thursday evening, the IDF launched additional strikes in the Tufah region of southern Lebanon, north of Nabatieh. Air Force jets targeted a weapons depot used by Hezbollah to organize and execute terrorist operations against Israel.
The IDF emphasized that these sites were not only a direct threat to Israel but also endangered Lebanese civilians, as the terror organization has repeatedly used populated areas as shields.
“The presence of this terror infrastructure constitutes a violation of the agreements between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF stated. “The Israel Defense Forces will continue to act decisively to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”
Israel remains determined to protect its citizens and sovereignty. Any attempt by Hezbollah to rebuild its terror networks or threaten Israeli civilians is likely to be met with swift and decisive action, ensuring threats against the State of Israel are neutralized before they can materialize.
