Iran Hits Southern Israel as IAF and USAF Continue Strikes

Israeli and American forces strike key targets in Iran, and the Islamic Republic regime retaliates against Israeli civilian infrastructure

By The IDF Club

The war against Iran led by the United States and Israel wages on.  The Israeli Air Force and the United States Air Force continue to strike targets in Iran.  Naval targets in both the Straits of Hormuz and even the Caspian Sea in northern Iran have been destroyed.  And now Israeli forces are heavily pounding regime infrastructure in Iran.  Iran has claimed that the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz has been struck, but the IDF stated that it was “unaware” of the attack.  In retaliation, Iran has launched several barrages of large ballistic missiles against Israeli civilian targets in southern Israel.  Southern Israeli cities like Arad and especially Dimona have received heavy bombardment.

Last night a complex of apartment buildings was struck in Arad in a massive casualty event.  The numbers are still being updated, but at present at least 84 persons have been wounded, and 10 in serious condition.

What is the significance of Dimona, a medium-sized city in the Negev desert region of southern Israel?

IDF combat reservist Sgt. Maj. Y.M. Ben-Caro opines that it’s a “revenge” attack to “send a message.”

“Israel and the United States have wiped out Iran’s nuclear capabilities.  And apparently — although it’s still not totally clear what happened — the Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz were recently destroyed.  So Iran is now attempting to take revenge against Israel by attacking the city and region that houses Israel’s nuclear infrastructure.”

Israeli residents all across Israel — especially in the south — awoke to air raid sirens and an ominous series of large booming.  Both IDF as well as local response teams like Hatzalah are on high alert to respond to missile impact sites to provide emergency services as needed.
