In yet another breach of the ceasefire, an armed terrorist in northern Gaza was identified crossing the designated yellow line toward IDF troops on Monday, prompting an immediate Israeli response.
According to the IDF, forces operating in northern Gaza detected the infiltrator as he advanced into the restricted zone, creating what the military described as an “immediate threat” to the soldiers stationed there.
The full military statement said: “Earlier today, IDF forces operating in northern Gaza identified a terrorist who crossed the yellow line and posed an immediate threat to them. Immediately after the identification, the Air Force, directed by the forces on the ground, eliminated the terrorist. IDF forces under Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to act to remove any immediate threat.”
The incident marks the latest in a growing list of ceasefire violations by terrorist groups in Gaza. In recent days, armed terrorists have repeatedly attempted to approach IDF positions, and other breaches have included shooting attacks and the continued refusal to return the bodies of two Israeli hostages and one Thai national held by Hamas.
