The IDF said it carried out two separate operations against Hezbollah terrorists in southern Lebanon on Tuesday after identifying immediate threats near Israeli forces operating in the security zone along the Ali al-Taher ridge.

In the first incident, Israeli forces identified an armed terrorist cell operating near troops in the area. The military said the terrorists were quickly targeted north of the security zone in order to remove the threat.

Hours later, the military confirmed a second incident in the same area involving four Hezbollah terrorists riding a bulldozer and a motorcycle. According to the IDF, the suspects crossed into the security zone and approached Israeli forces while operating under civilian cover.

Troops initially fired warning shots, but after the suspects continued advancing and ignored calls to stop, Israeli forces opened additional fire. The military said hits were identified.

Following the incidents, Hezbollah accused Israel of firing on civilians in the Nabatieh al-Fawqa area who were allegedly clearing roads and recovering bodies from rubble. The group said two people were killed, including a municipal employee, and described the incident as a violation of the ceasefire.

The IDF accused Hezbollah of using civilian cover to conceal terrorist activity, calling the latest encounter another example of the group’s exploitation of Lebanese civilians and civilian infrastructure for military purposes.

The military reiterated that it will continue acting against immediate threats in southern Lebanon and will not allow Hezbollah to endanger Israeli civilians or soldiers.
