Israeli forces operating under the IDF 36th Division, commanded by Brigadier General Yiftah Norkin, uncovered detailed maps and diagrams of northern Israeli communities during operations in southern Lebanon.

The critical intelligence was discovered by specialized forces from the Commando Brigade combat team and the Yahalom combat engineering unit.

These troops found the materials drawn directly on the walls within a subterranean Hezbollah command complex beneath the Beaufort Ridge.

The materials illustrate the specific topographical control Hezbollah planned to use in future incursions.

According to military assessments, the extensive underground network was excavated over a decade with substantial funding and direct assistance from the Iranian government.

The multi-level structure is situated in the Galilee panhandle region, approximately 6 kilometers from the northern border town of Metula.

The discovered maps detailed key demographic, structural, and strategic layouts of several northern Israeli yishuvim.

Military officials assert these findings strengthen the conclusion that the tunnel complex functioned as advanced, multi-purpose offensive infrastructure designed for an October 7-style cross-border raid on Israeli territory.

The offensive plan involved staging grounds to accommodate hundreds of elite Radwan Force operatives simultaneously, supporting long-term emergency habitation with integrated plumbing, living quarters, and electricity.

Tactically, the complex was heavily fortified with vast anti-tank and aerial defense arrays meant to ambush responding IDF soldiers and neutralize local civilian defense teams.

The maps were located in a specific tunnel route where several Hezbollah operatives recently attempted to break free before being identified and subsequently eliminated in an IDF airstrike.

In addition to the tactical layouts, Israeli forces located chilling intelligence documents in adjacent bunkers referencing prominent individuals on the northern border.

This included Chabad shliach Rabbi Moshe Sasonkin of Metula, whose personal routines and vehicle details were precisely tracked for targeted action.

The Beaufort Ridge tunnel center is currently being scanned and cleared by Israeli troops.

The IDF plan to systematically demolish the entire multi-level underground stronghold once all intelligence has been gathered to completely neutralize the strategic threat to Israeli civilian communities.
