“The IDF is prepared to activate an unprecedented offensive capability in its power against any attempt to harm the State of Israel.”

As tensions rise over the possibility of a U.S. strike on Iran and repeated threats from Tehran of retaliation, IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Israel’s Home Front Command is operating at a heightened level of readiness to protect civilians and maintain continuity under fire.

“Given the scope of the multi-front threats facing the State of Israel, the Home Front Command stands on the defensive, capable, trained, and alert,” Zamir said.

He stressed that the command remains prepared at all times to deploy “a wide range of capabilities” to confront an attack on the civilian home front and to save lives.

“At the same time,” he added, “the IDF is prepared to activate an unprecedented offensive capability in its power against any attempt to harm the State of Israel.”

Zamir said the military has internalized operational lessons from recent fighting and is applying them across the force. “We are prepared in full defense for every scenario,” he said, adding that the IDF is also preparing for the possibility of a surprise war.

He highlighted close coordination between the Home Front Command, local authorities, and emergency organizations as a central component of national preparedness.

“The combination of the command’s capabilities and the tight partnership with local authorities and emergency organizations strengthens national resilience and ensures a response to every challenge,” Zamir said.
