“The campaign against Hezbollah has only just begun,” Zamir said.

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir said Saturday that Israel’s campaign against Hezbollah is still in its early stages, warning that the Lebanese terror group will be left isolated once the war with Iran concludes.
Zamir made the remarks during a high-level operational assessment and approval of plans to deepen ground maneuvering in Lebanon. The meeting included members of the General Staff, division commanders, and brigade commanders operating in the northern sector.
“Iran is our main effort and the northern arena is another central arena,” Zamir said. “They are interconnected. Hezbollah is a central proxy of the Iranian terror regime and made a serious mistake when it chose to join the war against Israel. This decision is harming Hezbollah and the State of Lebanon as a whole.”
He emphasized that Israel’s message to Iran and its regional proxies is clear. “There is no safe place for the regime and its proxies. Any threat to Israeli civilians will be met with a determined, precise and powerful response.”
According to Zamir, Israeli forces have made significant progress in recent weeks in Lebanon, striking more than 2,000 targets, including dozens of weapons depots, and killing hundreds of Hezbollah terrorists.
“The campaign against Hezbollah has only just begun,” he said. “At the end of the campaign in Iran, Hezbollah will remain alone and isolated.”
The IDF is now preparing to expand both ground operations and airstrikes in Lebanon as part of an organized operational plan. At the same time, the military is reinforcing defensive positions along the northern border to protect Israeli communities.
“We are prepared for a long campaign,” Zamir said. “We will continue to act as necessary, both offensively and defensively, in order to ensure the long-term security of northern residents.”
Zamir’s remarks made clear that while Iran remains the primary front, the northern campaign is far from over. The IDF is preparing to expand operations in Lebanon and continue striking Hezbollah infrastructure and terrorists.
The message from Israel’s military leadership was clear: the IDF will continue operating until the threat to northern Israel is removed.
