Two days after a missile was launched from Yemen into Israel on Saturday night, Israeli Air Force jets carried out strikes on Houthi terrorist targets early Monday morning at the Port of Hodeidah.

This marks the 12th Israeli strike on Yemen since the outbreak of hostilities.

Hodeidah is considered a strategic hub for the Houthi rebels, frequently used for smuggling weapons and supplies vital to their operations.

An IDF spokesperson stated that the attack targeted engineering equipment used to restore port infrastructure, fuel tanks, and vessels utilized for military activity and hostile operations against Israel and maritime traffic near the port.

According to the IDF, the Houthi regime has repeatedly militarized the port, prompting multiple strikes in the past. The port reportedly facilitates the transfer of Iranian weapons, which the Houthis use to execute terror operations against Israel and its allies.

The IDF identified continued restoration efforts and attempts to rebuild terrorist infrastructure at the port, leading to the targeted destruction of components involved in those activities.

The Houthi regime is accused of exploiting civilian infrastructure for military purposes and using the maritime domain to threaten commercial and transit vessels in international waters. The latest targets reflect this pattern of abuse.

Defense Minister Israel Katz emphasized:

The IDF is resolutely preventing the restoration of previously destroyed terror infrastructure.

And it will continue to respond decisively to repeated Houthi terrorist attacks against Israeli citizens.

As I’ve made clear—Yemen will be treated with the same resolve as Tehran.

The Houthis will pay a heavy price for firing missiles at Israel.

We will operate anytime, anywhere, to defend the State of Israel.”
