IDF and Shin Bet forces last week carried out an airstrike that killed Hamas terrorist Hamza Sharbasi, a commander in the Shuja’iyya Battalion in northern Gaza, the military announced.

According to the IDF, Sharbasi was among the terrorists who infiltrated Israel during the October 7 massacre and took part in the assault on the Nahal Oz outpost, where Israeli soldiers were killed and kidnapped.

In recent weeks, he had been operating near the so-called “yellow line,” where he was involved in advancing terror plans targeting IDF troops active in the area.

The military also released a photo of Sharbasi inside a shelter at the Nahal Oz outpost during the October 7 attack, documenting his direct involvement in the massacre.

In the same strike, Israeli forces also eliminated Azzam al-Haya, a Hamas Nukhba terrorist who had recently played a central operational role within the organization, according to the IDF.

The operation was part of ongoing efforts by Israeli security forces to target Hamas operatives involved in the October 7 attacks and disrupt planned terror activity against troops operating in Gaza.
