In one of the most dramatic rescue moments of the Gaza fighting, an IDF military doctor risked his life to save a severely wounded soldier while under intense enemy fire, according to footage and reports released by Israel National News.
The incident occurred during heavy combat inside Gaza, where an IDF unit came under sudden attack, leaving one soldier critically injured and pinned down.
A Race Against Time Under Fire
As enemy gunfire intensified, the unit’s combat medic and military doctor sprinted toward the wounded soldier, fully exposed to incoming rounds.
According to the report, the medical team performed life‑saving treatment on the spot, stabilizing the soldier’s airway and stopping major bleeding while bullets struck the ground around them.
The doctor then coordinated a high‑risk evacuation, carrying the soldier to a protected position where additional medical teams could reach him.
The extraction was filmed and later presented at an IDF Medical Corps conference, highlighting the extraordinary bravery required to perform battlefield medicine under fire.
Innovation Meets Courage
The IDF noted that the rescue showcased not only courage but also the rapid medical innovations developed during the Gaza war.
These include improved battlefield evacuation techniques and advanced trauma protocols that have dramatically increased survival rates.
A Testament to IDF Medical Teams
The incident has been widely praised within the IDF as an example of the extraordinary dedication of military doctors and medics who routinely enter active combat zones to save lives.
Commanders emphasized that without the doctor’s immediate intervention, the soldier would not have survived.
