Israeli forces operating in southern Gaza neutralized four armed terrorists on Monday after identifying them approaching troops in a manner that posed an immediate threat, the military said.

According to the Israel Defense Forces, soldiers from the 188th Armored Brigade’s combat team spotted the suspects near the Yellow Line security zone while conducting operational activity in the area.

The four terrorists were observed moving toward the forces while carrying weapons, prompting an immediate response.

Following the identification, the Israeli Air Force, acting under the direction of ground forces, carried out a targeted strike.

Three of the terrorists were eliminated in the airstrike, while a fourth was neutralized, removing the immediate threat to the troops operating in the sector.

After the engagement, IDF forces conducted searches in the area and located weapons and additional military equipment on the terrorists.

The military said the equipment was intended for intelligence collection on IDF activity in the area, underscoring the hostile intent of the suspects.

The IDF emphasized that forces under the Southern Command remain deployed in southern Gaza in accordance with existing agreements and operational directives, and will continue to act decisively to eliminate any immediate threats to Israeli forces.
