Yamam counterterrorism fighters, guided by the Shin Bet, arrested a five-man terrorist cell in the village of Barta’a overnight as part of an operation under the Menashe Brigade. According to security officials, the cell had been planning to carry out an attack in the immediate timeframe, and the arrest operation was launched based on precise intelligence.

The raid was conducted jointly by Yamam forces and troops from the Menashe Brigade, with the Shin Bet providing operational direction. All five terrorists were taken into custody without reported injuries to Israeli forces.

The arrests come as part of a broader escalation in counterterror activity across northern Samaria.

Last week, IDF units from the Menashe and Samaria Brigades, together with special forces, the Shin Bet, and Border Police, launched a coordinated framework known as Operation Five Stones, targeting terror infrastructure in multiple villages.

During the first day of the operation, security forces carried out more than 220 searches, questioned dozens of suspects, arrested several wanted individuals, uncovered weapons, destroyed militant hideouts, and seized tens of thousands of shekels earmarked for terrorist activity.

Security forces continue proactive operations in the region to disrupt terror networks and prevent imminent attacks.
