Gai Ben-Harush, 23, from Pardes Hanna-Karkur, was a commander in an assault platoon of the elite Oketz Unit—Unit 7142—an independent special forces division of the IDF known for its combat canine operations.

Like all fighters in Oketz, Gai led from the front, working closely with his attack dog to shield and support his team in the field.

He was killed in action during a confrontation with Hezbollah terrorists in a village located in the eastern part of southern Lebanon.

Gai’s courage and steadfast commitment to his mission and comrades remain a lasting legacy.

May his memory be for a blessing.
