Members of the Shin Bet security agency and the Israel Police’s elite Yamam counter-terrorism unit have detained a Hamas terrorist in a daring operation in the heart of Nablus.

Ayman Ghanam, Hamas commander in the town of Aqaba in the Tubas Governorate, was part of a three-man terrorist cell responsible for a shooting at the Mehola Junction in August this year. The attack resulted in the death of 23-year-old Yonatan Deutsch and left 32-year-old Anas Jaramana injured.

Last night, the IDF forces entered in a Mercedes Sprinter van and a yellow Transporter taxi. The terrorist was put into the van in a wheelchair and taken into custody.
