Three years ago, the idea that Kaveret would be delivering packages to IDF soldiers inside enemy territory would have sounded impossible.

Yet the surreal reality of the current war has pushed the army’s internal convenience‑store chain into a role no one imagined.

Kaveret announced that it is launching a delivery service directly into combat zones in the Gaza Strip.

Families of soldiers in the 188th and 7th Armored Brigades can now send snacks, sweets, and small comforts straight to their loved ones on the front lines.

The process begins on the Kaveret website, where users select items and add them to a virtual shopping cart.

After entering the soldier’s details and paying by credit card, customers choose the new option labeled “Across Borders – Order for soldiers in Gaza.”

A confirmation email with an order number is sent immediately after payment.

Once the order is collected, the customer is charged only for the items actually packed.

If a single product is missing, it is removed without notification.

If two or more items are unavailable, Kaveret contacts the customer to arrange replacements.

If the customer cannot be reached by 4 p.m. on the day of processing, the package is sent without the missing items to avoid delays.

To understand how unusual this service is, it helps to remember what Kaveret is.

Kaveret is not a civilian chain but the IDF’s internal convenience‑store network, operating inside bases and secure military zones.

It provides soldiers with subsidized snacks, toiletries, chargers, stationery, and basic gear.

Its roots lie in Shekem, the old military‑run store system that served generations of Israeli soldiers.

Over the years, Kaveret modernized into a standardized, clean, and familiar fixture of army life.

Recruits buy their first energy drink there, combat soldiers grab late‑night snacks after guard duty, and reservists reconnect with old routines.

Now, in wartime, Kaveret has extended its mission beyond the base perimeter.

What was once a quiet welfare service has become a lifeline of small comforts delivered directly into Gaza.

Families can now send a taste of home to soldiers serving in the most dangerous areas of the Strip.
