Over the past 24 hours, IDF units from the Menashe and Samaria brigades, together with special forces, Shin Bet, and Border Police, launched a coordinated operation, dubbed “Five Stones,” targeting terror infrastructure in several villages in northern Samaria.

During the first day of the operation, security forces conducted over 220 searches, questioned dozens of suspects, and arrested several wanted individuals. In addition, the forces uncovered weapons, destroyed militants’ hideouts, and seized tens of thousands of shekels intended for terrorist activities.

Earlier, during the “Five Stones” operation, a terrorist threw an explosive device at an IDF force from the Paratroopers Reconnaissance Unit in the Kabatia area of the Menashe Brigade. The force returned fire, neutralizing the attacker. Additional explosives were later found in the terrorist’s vehicle and safely destroyed by the troops. No IDF personnel were injured in the incident.

The villages targeted in the operation have been the origin of numerous terror plots against Israeli civilians and security forces over the past year.

The IDF and Shin Bet said they will continue proactive operations to prevent the establishment of terror networks in the area and to neutralize threats to Israeli citizens. The operation will expand as needed.
