Defense Minister Israel Katz warned Sunday that “Hezbollah is playing with fire, and the president of Lebanon is dragging his feet,” following a major Israeli strike in southern Lebanon that killed four Hezbollah terrorists from the group’s elite Radwan Force.

“The Lebanese government’s commitment to disarm Hezbollah and remove it from southern Lebanon must be fulfilled,” Katz declared. “Maximum enforcement will continue and deepen — we will not allow a threat to the residents of the north.”

The Israel Defense Forces said the strike, led by the Northern Command and executed by the Israeli Air Force, targeted the terrorist responsible for the Radwan Force’s logistical support in southern Lebanon.

The individual had been overseeing the movement of weapons and efforts to restore Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure in the region. Three additional Radwan terrorists were also killed in the operation in the Rmeish area.

“The actions of these terrorists posed a direct threat to the State of Israel and its citizens, as well as a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF said in a statement. “The IDF will continue to act to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”

A senior Israeli official told the Al Arabiya network that there are “serious assessments” Hezbollah has begun rebuilding its capabilities and succeeded in smuggling hundreds of short-range rockets from Syria. “We have conveyed a message that we may strike the Dahiyeh again if Hezbollah is not disarmed,” the official said, referring to the group’s Beirut stronghold.

The strike was part of Israel’s ongoing effort to contain the growing Hezbollah threat along the northern frontier.

In recent weeks, the IDF has intensified its campaign, carrying out near-daily precision strikes targeting Hezbollah terrorists, strongholds, weapons facilities, and surveillance sites in southern Lebanon.

Each operation, the army says, is aimed at preventing the Iranian-backed terror group from rebuilding its networks or positioning its elite Radwan Force along the border.

The IDF will continue to strike with full force until Hezbollah’s terror infrastructure is dismantled and the security of Israel’s northern residents is fully restored.
