Israeli forces eliminated two Hamas terrorists on Monday after they crossed the Yellow Line and approached IDF troops operating in southern Gaza, posing an immediate threat.
The terrorists were identified as they advanced toward Israeli positions in violation of the ceasefire framework. In response, the Israel Air Force, guided by troops on the ground, struck and killed the operatives, removing the danger.
This latest incident follows a series of Hamas ceasefire violations, including repeated gunfire at Israeli forces near the Yellow Line and the group’s ongoing delay in returning the bodies of murdered hostages.
Since the beginning of the truce, dozens of such breaches have been documented, with Hamas operatives frequently attempting to approach IDF positions or carry out attacks.
Defense Minister Israel Katz reaffirmed last week that the IDF will continue to use lethal force against terrorists operating within areas under Israeli control. He emphasized that operations to dismantle Hamas’s extensive tunnel network beneath the Yellow Line will persist even during the ceasefire.
“Israel’s policy in Gaza is clear: the IDF is operating to destroy the tunnels and eliminate Hamas terrorists without any limits within the Yellow Line area under our control,” Katz said, adding that the campaign’s goals include returning all hostages, recovering the fallen, and advancing the demilitarization of Gaza.
Troops under the IDF Southern Command remain deployed throughout the area in accordance with the ceasefire arrangement and continue to act decisively to neutralize any immediate threats to Israeli forces and civilians.
